Brief Resolved Unexplained Events 2.0 (BRUE 2.0) Criteria for Infants
Classifies unexplained events, improves on the BRUE Criteria.
Use in infants <1 year old who are asymptomatic and in their normal state of health at the time of evaluation. Do not use in symptomatic patients (e.g. fever, respiratory distress) or those with obvious cause for prior symptoms.

Nassr Nama, MD, MSc, FRCPC, FAAP is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of General Pediatrics at British Columbia Children’s Hospital and the University of British Columbia. He is a pediatric hospitalist with research interests focused on improving care for hospitalized children, particularly by expediting evidence synthesis and providing risk stratification tools that allow physicians to safely allocate precious clinical resources to high-risk patients.
Matt Hall, PhD is a principal biostatistician affiliated with the Children’s Hospital Association (CHA) and the Director of their Health Services Research Academy and Children’s Hospitals Institute of Pediatric Research (CHIPR)SM. He provides statistical support to all CHA divisions with a particular focus on health services and policy research. His statistical interests lie in multi-level modeling, nonparametric statistics, and graphical representations of large datasets. He has co-authored over 300 papers in peer-reviewed medical journals and is on the editorial board for Hospital Pediatrics. He is an ex officio board member of Pediatric Research in Inpatient Settings (PRIS) and is the research mentor for faculty members in the Division of Hospital Medicine at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO.
