Measure length and width on the CT slice with the largest area of hemorrhage. NOTE: CT slices are typically measured in mm, not cm.

Rashmikant Kothari, MD, is an associate professor of emergency medicine and clerkship director at Western Michigan University. He is currently the chair of the Stroke Task Force of the American Heart Association National ACLS Subcommittee and is on the scientific advisory board of Neuron Therapeutics, Inc. His research interests include emergency response to acute stroke.
